Placebo - detailed information
Placebo is a British rock band performing indie rock and alternative rock. It was formed in 1994, in the musical group Placebo members - Stefan Olsdahl and Brian Molko. In 2013, at the beginning of autumn, the world saw the seventh studio collection of the collective - Loud Like Love.
Placebo albums and other historical data:
In the group Placebo, songs were recorded together with drummer Steve Hewitt. But since he did not have time to constantly rehearse with the guys, soon before the first collection was recorded, Robert Schulzberg came to replace him. At the initial stage, the team was given the name Yeshtrei Hart.
In 1996, at the beginning of winter, the band entered into an agreement with Hut Records, and in July the world could already hear the first Placebo record. After the collection was presented, due to the fact that a lot of disagreements occurred within the group, the second drummer leaves it, whose place is again taken by the first. The New York Times compared them to the first wave of post-punk and rock bands.
At the onset of the 98th year, the guys will present their second collection "Without you, I'm nothing", which was produced by Steve Osborne, working with U2 and Happy Mundays. A little later, the members of the group starred in the film Velvet Gold Mine.
The band was also lucky enough to meet and work with David Bowie.
The 3rd studio compilation Black Market Music was released in 2000 in the middle of autumn. After 3 years, they released a disc called Sleeping with a Haunted. In 2003, a special version of the collection was released, which included two discs. One of these discs included 10 covers of different tracks, which the group recorded earlier.
The 5th collection "Meds" was released in 2006. Two compositions from the collection were dubbed with Meds and Broken Promis.
A year later, in October, Steve leaves the band, as he fails to establish normal relations within the team.
The next collection, called "Betl for the Sun", was announced in 2009. In addition, a full tracklist was announced, which included 13 tracks. The world saw the disc in 2009. After some time, the guys received the MTV EMA 2009 award. They were recognized as the best alternative band.
Three years later, the musicians will present a mini-collection called B3. It includes 5 musical compositions. The aforementioned 7th studio collection "Loud Like Love" was recorded throughout the year.
When 2015 came, it was announced on their official website that Steve Forrest was leaving the band, who had the idea to realize his ambitions in musical creativity, the material for which had been recorded over the past several years. For the role of a temporary drummer, the guys decided to invite Matt Lann, who had previously participated in the Color of Fire band. In 2004, she opened the concert at Placebo.
In 2016, the guys went on an anniversary tour in honor of their twentieth anniversary, which was called "20 Years Of Placebo". On the musical tour of the Placebo group, the soloist showed himself to be a true professional, which delighted the audience.
